  • ...sleep sleep...

So...the doctor says I have bronchitis.  Whether it's viral or not, she doesn't know.  But since she can't determine whether it is viral or not, she will not prescribe antibiotics.  Reasoning: a virus is poison in the system...antibiotics is another form of poison in your system...combining all that can only make you feel worst (which is very true- alot of times, antibiotics have made me feel crappier before feeling better).  Actually, i'd rather her not prescribe antibiotics right from the get go anyways.  Instead, I have a prescription for a nasal spray (which would be very good considering I also have slight sinus infection) and an asthma inhaler.  I'm not quite fond of the inhaler...that's like 60 dollars right there...ergs.  I'm wondering if my mother already has this specific puffer (i remember her having this round one)....so I could just use hers.

Her reasoning for this prescription was 1, the nasal spray clears out your airways from your nasal cavity down to your throat.  2, The inhaler helps your throat and your lungs.  Since it's a respiratory issue, that's the most direct way to treat it.

Also...she noted that I had an ulcer on my tonsils.  She also realized that I haven't gotten my tonsils removed (is that abnormal not to have them removed?).  She said that the ulcer is probably due to coughing so much (that why I tasted a little blood when I coughed this morning).

also, she told me to take tylenol or advil for the fever/chills and chest pains.  Since I have a gastro-intestinal issue, I can't take advil because it's harsher in the system....so my choice, tylenol.  although I went to the doctor and I didn't have a fever, she told me that I probably only have spikes of temperatures causing me to have chills.

So....bronchitis...you fiend.  how dare you make me cough till i feel like i'm dying! grrrrrrr....

time for bed...hehehe. snuggle time with my stuffies

  • ...tid bits....

I wonder if the name for the Canadian loved snack the TIMBIT was taken from the word tidbits.  (probably).

But here's some little known facts about me ....

    1. When I was in my teens, I thought I'd be dead by now....a statistic from drunk driving.  Don't know why, just always thought this.
    2. I enjoy knitting, but can't read knitting patterns for the life of me.  If there are knitting classes, I'll probably take those later.
    3. I love doing puzzles...the more pieces, the more complicated, the more motivation and desire to finish.
    4. I drink about 2.5 litres of water on a normal day.  I feel thirsty all the time...maybe I should go to the doctors (could be a sign of diabetes.....ergs)
    5. I think I'm quite a speed reader.  I read all 3 books in the hunger games series in about 4 days.  BUT...in hour wise, it would have only been somewhere between 6 to 8 hours.  I reread the Harry Potter series (all 7 books) in about 2 weeks (hours?  um...probably close to 30 or so hours).
    6. I love to sing.  I love going karaoke-ing, but I don't ever sing at karaoke.  I can sing in the shower fine.  I can sing in front of really close friends fine.  But when it comes to singing in front of a group....no way in hell....
    7. At the age of 25 (this year), I started having a nail polish craze, my nails now look naked without a funky colour.
    8. I have a habit of saying I'm one year older than I actually am  So when I actually turn 25 this year, I'll tell people I'm 26.
    9. I tell the worst stories....sure to bore you out of your mind.
    10. I'm a total foodie.  I might take journalism just so I could be accepted in a magazine to write a food column.
    11. I love to exercise, but I'm also a total couch potato (perhaps chair potato as I sit around the p.c monitor all the time)
    12. My favourite food is actually a perfect over-easy egg with soy sauce and rice.  There's nothing that seems just as homey and comforting than that to me.
    13. I don't believe in the concept of best friends.  I just have friends who are all very close....
    14. I have a problem with my tone of voice.  I get frustrated easily and you can hear it when I speak....something that I'm working on.
    15. I love to cook, but I don't know how to cook on a budget....something I totally need to learn to do.
    16. I believe the best meals isn't about the food, but also about the company you share the meal with.
    17. I've had my dream wedding planned since the time I turned 16.
    18. I can walk anywhere from one end of the city of Toronto to the other.  BUT...walking in the suburbs feels like torture.
    19. My favourite snack would be yogurt covered pretzels. creamy, sweet, crunchy, and salty...hehehe
    20.  I'm an internet shopaholic.  BUT....I've been restricting myself lately.
  • ...busy busy...

I have reading week now....for just over 1 whole week.  but....i'm gonna technically be busy.  i have 2 assignments due ever week of march.  but it's okay.  i haven't done very much in ANY of my classes.  anyways....i don't really feel like blogging now.  I've come down with what seems to be the flu....my head hurts, my whole body aches (while I haven't done excessive exercising) and I'm running a temperature.  bleh...

    sucks to be sick/super stressed....

    anyways....tata for now

  • ...sick of school...

my parents want me to get a doctorate.  why?  beat's the hell out of me.  but...it would look good to have a master's at least.  why?  because bachelor is soooo common place now.  But....at 25, I'm still feeling aimless.  I don't know what I want to do with my life.  At this moment, any full time job that's semi-enjoyable will do.  As long as I have time to take extra courses like learning a new language or something.  I dunno.  We'll see.

I've actually contemplated going for a masters of education.  But i don't think I like teaching that much.  I don' want to do something I don't enjoy.  Honestly, I don't have the calling to be a teacher.  I don't EVER remember growing up and saying, "when i grow up, i want to be a teacher."  I always wanted to be a secretary.  I'll have to vamp up my resume by the end of this month....why?  because although i have 2 assignments due EVERY week, I'm going to apply for jobs.  What it is I want to do, I DON'T know yet.

I'll be teaching LINC level 2 next week.  I actually don't enjoy all the prep work.  I'll tell you how it is after Thursday.

I'm cutting my hair next week too.  I haven't cut it for over a year now.  All the split ends are driving me INSANE.  The last time I cut it, my friend Jenny was planning to go to Korea to teach- that was sometime before christmas of 2010.  omgshocked

Although I've had friends teach overseas, funny enough, I have NEVER contemplated teaching english overseas.  Although I think the experience would be fun, the income would be low, and it would be a way to travel the world, I'm not looking forward to it.  So...what will I be doing?  We'll see still.

My mother is pushing me to be an accountant....and it makes me laugh.  why you ask?  it's cause numbers (other than the ones for soduko) make my head spin.  hahaha.  we'll see.  Though...I AM getting older...and I don't like this lack of direction....booey

anywhoo, off to do some school work

  • ...sore...

I already did my squats and lunges as "warmup" and I still feel hella sore.  If you've seen me play, you'll see that I'm constantly in a "squat" position (similar to tennis players i guess).  out of everything from my days in a badminton club, the one thing i hear is, "form is important, know where you are, know how you're standing.  DON'T just stand there looking like a log."   I guess that was something drilled in my head.  So you'll see me standing back in "starting/center/base" position all the time with my racquet ready to hit something.

Apparently I entered the court and started rallying with my parents and some people asked my parents, "Does your daughter play?"  I didn't hear this cause I zone out when I play, I'm a tad tooo focused on what I'm doing and how I should improve.

How do people know if i've played badminton before?  how does a badminton player look?  To me, it seemed like ALL the adults from mainland China knew how to play/played before.....

OH! I finally tried my arc sabre! YAY! my 100 dollar racquet put to use!  got into a collision when I was playing doubles and my heart skipped a beat.  Thankfully, NOTHING happened.  Compared to my old wilson racquet, this one was WAY better.  one, it's a more balanced racquet (my old one was head heavy- I actually had trouble smashing with that racquet).  For my long shots I actually needed a lot less force to hit it to the spot I wanted.  Maybe I was playing my wilson racquet wrong, I dunno.  The thing I had trouble with was actually doing soft shots.  Any amount of strength I put into hitting made it go soooo much further than I anticipated (i'm thinking this has something to do with the tension in my strings and i'm not used to it).  I almost feel like such a liar for using my racquet....i'm soooo newb, but i'm using such a nice racquet>.<

I actually had to learn to play backyard style with my mother because she's a tad uncoordinated and I felt bad for smashing everything at her.

For being out of shape, I was able to play for 1 hour and 45 minutes worth before I went for a 5 minute break.  I feel quite proud.  My muscles didn't start to grown till about 1 hour in and then I pushed myself for another 45 mins because I just wanted to keep playing.  I also want to play vollyball, but that's probably even more strenuous on my joints.

Glad I'm not as out of shape as I thought I'd be.  Some day, playing a full 2 hours without a break will be fine and dandy.  I'll have to work on my left arm so that it doesn't become flabby and my right tooo muscular.

I do wish there were more young people and people would speak english.  But they're all chinese, so Chinese is comforting to them.  Oh wells, time for ME to learn to speak better chinese.

Oh...btw, I finally understand when people say the feel of a plastic shuttle cock and a shuttle cock with feathers are different.  I LOVE playing with a feathered shuttle cock! it just feels....i don't know...much better.  A plastic birdy just sucks.  My smashes also aren't as nice with a plastic one.  is that normal?  Plus, a feathered shuttle cock also sounds different.  Am I being odd?

There are a few things I'd like to do better.  1) I wanna serve better.  My serve SUCKS! my serve is rarely close to the line, nor is it "low".  I serve like a newb, it's normally lobbed high and true AND directly AT the opponent.  A pro would smash it back at me because it's at perfect height to do so.  This rarely happened to me today, but that's cause no one was being too "cruel" nor was anyone truly that pro (maybe minus 4 people that I didn't play against).  2, I want to smash better.  Sure, every player says that.  But I know I don't tend to do "true" smashes.  yes, I typically try to aim for people's feet, but I normally end up hitting people's tummy area.  Yeah, for most people, this is "good" enough as it's already hard to return back.  But for me, i know what a true smash is, and what i'm doing ain't it.  3, I need better aim.  No, I can aim for front or back court very well.  My left to right side aim is kind of on the weak side though.  4, i need to learn my rules again.  I'm rusty and out of practice.  oh...the courts were smaller than I remember...or is it because i'm bigger now?

i must say it's exhilarating to be back on the court.  I look forward to Friday!  Badminton! HERE I COME!

  • ...badminton night...

    excited....hehehe

Finally got a chance to use my new racquet.  Sad ain't I?  I realized that I spell a lot of my words with american spelling (not that there's anything wrong).  For instance, I spell pajamas like that NOT the Canadian way which is pyjamas (which looks wrong to me).  I'm sooo out of shape....so we'll see how many games I can last.

I've been saying I've wanted to play since September....oh well...it's NEVER too late hehehe

do you wear goggles when you play?  I almost want to wear glasses so that it really won't hit me in the eye.  hahah.  but we'll see.

anywhoo....going to teach on monday (nervous)

anyways....hope you all have a good weekend! i'm having a Harry Potter Marathon with the bf this weekend! laughing  (all 8 movies for 60 dollars after shipping and handling)

DAY 29 - a song from your childhood
All the disney movies here I come! ....

Alladin- a whole new world.  I actually wanted to find one of the songs from beauty and the beast, but there weren't any in good quality that I liked.  I used to listen to a cassette tape of Disney songs when I went to bed...I normally fell asleep by the time this song came around.  heh

  • ...restless sleep...

every time I post 2 or more posts a day, it's because my mind is restless.  My mind is bored and I need something to do.  So to combat all this, my fingers itch to type.  As an outlet for my restless mind, I begin typing.  Sometimes it's non-sensical, but most times it's just hillarious ramblings of the brain.

And then I realize, my sleep was interupted last night.  By a reoccuring image.  I woke up remembering the tears I cried in my sleep.  Oh wait, was this last night or just when I fell alseep on the bus?  It's probably the latter.  It's a guy that haunts my dreams.  The same face I knew 10 years ago.  But in my dreams, he always looks the same as I remember.  The one that plauges my mind with what ifs.  It's horrible.  To wake up feeling so shaken at a non-existant reality makes me worry.

The most horrific of dreams are the ones that feel so much like reality.

In the end, I was left with nothing.  No love of either the past nor the present.  No love in the future.  I died alone.  Regretting the life I've lived.  Ironically, I rarely ever regret anything.  And looking back into my past, there are very few things that i'd change.  why?  becuase what has happened has happened.  What has been done has been done, nothing I can change.

Perhaps this restless sleep happens at a time when I go teach my first class with very little to no instruction at all.  Maybe all that I need is to just pretend I know what I'm doing and teach as if I were the student in the class.  We'll see.

The teacher has given us no heads up.  "it's best to email me." and I waited for a response ALL weekend long, from the morning till the night.  I can't prepare anything unless I have something to prepare- a word of whether the direction i'm heading is the right one.  hehehe..."ted, you're heading down a dark path."  "the dark path is my driveway."  heh.

anyways....off to wait to prep for this stupid class.  sigh.

Gonna eat a few stuff first.  Gonna utilize the technology in a class....why?  because I'd like to be taught with technology.

so yeah....ergs...i can't wait to go home and sleep! (which i can't because I have another test to study for)
